a few little things

i've been working on a few small projects over break. most of them have involved just gathering materials. if there was a career that solely involved coming up with ideas and gathering materials i would be the industry leader. when it comes to the execution of melding these ideas and materials together successfully, well... that's a different matter.

the first gathering of materials includes some fabrics to go along with this super cute baby quilt that chris bought for me. well, not really for me, but you know. the quilt was made by a couple who were at the handmade militia in fort collins about a month ago (a shout out here to my bff, esther, who was in the craft fair with her always fresh and adorable children's line, chinnychinchin). the couple is from denver and they have an etsy shop, vital, which mostly sports their graphic designs on clothing. anyway, while i was at the fair i mentioned to esther how much i liked the quilt. she then sweetly spread the word to the young christoph, and viola a tiny quilt ended up under our christmas tree! i love that the quilt has bold but simple lines to it and it's so cute without being too cutesy. i have pulled together some fabrics to start thinking about sheets, bumper pads, bed skirt, and those sorts of things. the sheep is something i've had a long time but i still love and it seems even sweeter next to these items, and the lamp shade i found over the weekend at goodwill.

these are a pair of oh-so-sweet booties that i made over the weekend. i got the idea from esther's blog and decided to try making a pair myself. they were so much fun to make that there are bound to be more as soon as i lay my hands on the right material!
