Notice the difference just a year can make? We got the moses basket out while moving and I snapped this picture just today. The first picture is sometime in the fist couple of weeks after Whitaker was born. I really wish we had taken one a little panned out so you could really see the size. It's astonishing what growth happens in one year!

4sale!
flowering trees, baby grass, everything coated in chartreuse pollen... it's spring around here and spring fever has hit us hard this year. we have been scouring, decluttering, plucking and pruning, and in general making it look like nobody actually lives in our house. all of this is so that when it goes on the market in the next couple of days it will catch the eye of that certain someone who will imagine herself living in this house that we've called home for just shy of three years. here are a few pics.

pillow talk
i've been thinking lately of putting a little pillow in whit's crib. i'm still a little nervous to give him a blanket because he is just about the busiest sleeper i've ever laid eyes on. i feel like giving him a blanket is just asking for trouble. he'd probably get himself wrapped up like a little burrito overnight. but the last few days we've spied him using his crib bumper as a pillow which makes me wonder if he might like having a real pillow. take a look for yourself.
presto chango
finally did some sewing today. man, it's been awhile. it felt good though, and i've got some more stuff i want to get done soon. i've been wanting to recover this highchair for awhile, but i never seem to make time for it. in the end it really didn't take that long and it wasn't super hard. it just seemed to be one of those projects that felt more like a job than a creative outlet. at any rate i'm glad it's done. i went to a friends house this weekend who also has a six month old. she had a fab Tripp Trapp high chair. i'm so jealous. it's like a piece of furniture art. functional and gorgeous. now if i could justify the $250 price tag.
instead we have the $40 version. less trendy, but still very functional.
